Yoga in Hiriketiya, Sri Lanka
Hiriketiya's tucked-away horseshoe bay has become one of Sri Lanka's best-known yoga destinations. Here's what to expect from a yoga stay — and how Wake N Flow Hiriketiya fits in.
Hiriketiya (locally called Hiri) is smaller and quieter than Weligama or Ahangama. That's exactly why it's become a magnet for yoga travellers — palm-shaded lanes, one road down to the beach, and a cluster of good vegetarian cafés.
A yoga stay in Hiriketiya typically means an early sunrise flow, breakfast, a mid-morning swim or longboard, a late-afternoon restorative or yin, and dinner with the same faces. Nothing loud — that's the point.
Daily yoga classes vs a full retreat
Wake N Flow Hiriketiya runs daily drop-in classes (vinyasa in the morning, yin or restorative in the evening) and also hosts longer retreat weeks and yoga teacher training (TTC) blocks through the season. Drop-in is right if you want to combine surf + yoga; a retreat is right if you want a fully guided reset week.
Yoga teacher training in Sri Lanka
Our seasonal 200-hour and 300-hour TTC intakes run at south-coast locations, mixing traditional hatha-vinyasa with anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology. Cohorts stay onsite, share meals and practise together twice daily. Enquire on /contact for the next confirmed dates.
